Transcript:

I’m John Yakabuski, the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry and I want to bring greetings to your annual general meeting and conference being held in beautiful Collingwood, Ontario. I regret that I can’t join you but did want to say hello.

And I want to thank you for the contribution you make in ensuring Ontarians have a sustainable supply of fresh Ontario fish and shrimp. Your industry contributes over $142 million to our economy annual, and ensures there are good jobs in rural Ontario towns and villages as well.

I want to thank you for the partnership we’ve enjoyed together and wanted to ensure you we want to continue to strengthen that partnership.

We want you to know that Ontario; we are open for jobs and open for business.

And we want to assist your association in ensuring we can reduce the red tape that makes it harder for all businesses to operate here in Ontario. And we want to continue to tackle some of that and make it much easier to do business here in Ontario.

Under Doug Ford, we want everyone to know that Ontario is open for business, open for jobs, and the Ontario Aquaculture Association has our support.
